Bruce thanked him, saying that he hoped the Protocol would never have to be used, but that its existence was necessary to protect Tim Drake, Dick Grayson, Barbara Gordon, and Alfred Pennyworth. Alfred gave him an update on the Protocol, telling Bruce that the workmen had installed piping all the way down to the foundation of the Manor as requested.
